June 22, 1972
June 22, 1972
It was my first summer home from college. My Dad said he could find me something to do at his real estate and insurance office. I thought that was o.k. I did not know how special it would be to have one of your children work with you until now. I believe he was proud.
The pictures are from that June in 1972.
The tall one on the right is me.
June 22, 1972, is also a birthday. I was able to buy my first car that summer. It cost $2,300.00. It has less than 50 miles on it. The sales tax was 3%. It did not have air conditioning. I used to take 4 girls to A & W for root beer while in college and our family drove it until it had 100,000 miles on it. I know I have mentioned it before but I loved that car. I still have it rusting out on the hill east of town.
After going out last night to take a picture I know that dream of restoring it is fading more and more each day.

now that i'm a parent, there's a lot of things i realize from my parents' view.
Chloe wants to know, "Whose car is that?" I think she'd love to cruise with you..
Love the story of you and your dad, side by side.Kind of fond of parent/child pals, y'know..
Love you, Keesee.
I remember you dating Sharlene in that car!
Don't give up your dreams. You never know what's around the corner. You dreamed of a beautiful wife and family and that came true. Why not this? Love, you man.
